Performed in Q4 2021 and Q1 2022, Lanzarote-Fuerteventura prj has been a challenging experience. Sisgen delivered a comprehensive suite of nearshore services for the installation of the HVAC cable between the two Canarian islands. One of the most demanding aspects of this project was the cable protection work in Fuerteventura, performed in wintertime in a shore approach exposed to the harsh northern waves. We deployed our underwater excavator and successfully completed a trench in the tough Basalt rock seabed. A significant highlight of this project was the use of ECONCRETE backfilling material for the first time. These environmentally friendly concrete modules are designed to seamlessly integrate with the seabed, enhancing stability and ecological harmony. The success of this project was marked not only by our technical achievements in challenging conditions but also by our commitment to environmentally sustainable practices, as evidenced by the effective application of ECONCRETE modules.
